Monster I'd Like to Fight: Drithubau

Drithubau

Mothers of Demons

Habitat: Mountain; Treasure: None

Drithubaus are colossal, winged demons with a pair of curved horns that emerge where their eyes should be. Their powerful legs end in taloned feet, suited for gripping other large creatures. These demons are tasked with scouring the mountains, chasms, and ravines of the infinite chaos, seeking red, leathery pods that contain newly born, potent demons. Once a pod is found, they transport it directly to the frontlines of the eternal conflict, where they carefully free the demon from its shell, clean it, and return to search for another. Within these pods could be any of the most powerful demons. Roll on or choose a result from the Demonic Birthing Pod Table to inspire what may lay within a carried pod.

Drithubau

Drithubaus are fiercely protective of both the demons they carry and the pods awaiting extraction from the cliffs of chaos. Adventurers should be most cautious when a drithubau isn’t carrying a pod, as these creatures tend to flee when transporting a demon.
