The Vault: Badger Biscuit

Badger Biscuit

The badger biscuit was originally developed by the Silvervein dwarf clan as a non-perishable food source for miners working in hazardous areas. Skilled dwarven bakers created the recipe, which had a remarkable ability to transform the miner’s hands into powerful digging claws. These claws were intended to enable a quick escape from dangerous creatures, and mining expeditions would prepare small escape tunnels filled with soil and rocks to facilitate this escape.

The recipe was a closely guarded secret of the Silvervein clan for centuries until arcane researchers became interested in recreating it. After much experimentation, they were finally able to unlock the secret of the badger biscuit’s transformative properties.

Making badger biscuits

If a character is proficient in cook’s utensils, they can uncover the recipe for badger biscuits by consuming one or examining it during a short rest. Once they have the recipe, they can create a biscuit using a downtime activity and 200 gp worth of materials. This includes 100 gp worth of crushed gems, which must be added to the fermented dough before baking.
