The Vault: Terran Band

In the heart of the mountain, where veins of precious ore gleam like stars, lies a stone ring born of primordial earth. It holds within the essence of elemental power, an oddity from the plane where the ground we traverse finds its genesis.

Legend speaks of a miner, a rugged soul with pickaxe in hand, who delved deep into the earth’s embrace to unearth this precious item. Amidst a labyrinth of tunnels he stumbled upon a chamber bathed in the soft glow of luminescent crystals. And there, cradled within the earth’s embrace, he found the terran band.

In ancient times, this band was said to be a gift to dwarven priests bestowed upon them by their deity. Others believe that the terran band is not merely crafted from stone, but from a fragment of an earth elemental’s eye socket. Whether truth or fancy, none can deny the potent magic it bestows upon its wearer.

Terran Band

Ring, Uncommon (Requires Attunement)

While wearing this ring, you can speak, read, and write Primordial. You also have a burrow speed equal to half of your movement speed.

As an action, you can create tremors on the ground around yourself in a 10-foot-radius. Hostile creatures in the area must make a DC 13 Strength saving throw, takingĀ 2d8 bludgeoning damage and falling prone on a failed save. On a success, they take half damage and do not fall prone.

This property can’t be used again until the next dawn, or you feed the ring a gem worth 50 gp or more.
