Dracox, diminutive wingless dragons covered in a dense fur ranging from gray-blue to white, thrive in cooler climates, particularly amidst mountain ranges. Much like their larger kin, they are fond of hoarding valuable metals and gems. When it comes to nesting, they position their nests near their hoards to protect both simultaneously. While typically solitary, during mating season, they may be spotted in pairs, though away from their hoard to keep its location concealed from one another.
Dracox have a strong sense of smell when it comes to detecting precious gems and metals. They use it to track down valuables to add to their hoard. Often a dracox hoard is made of mostly stolen items they took from caravans or homes at night. When stealing from a larger settlement, a dracox might establish secondary caches to gather stolen goods over several nights before consolidating them with their main hoard.
While generally reclusive, dracox are not prone to aggression. They prefer to lurk unseen, allowing potential threats to pass by. However, if they perceive a threat to their nest or hoard, they react violently to intimidate intruders.

Actions
Multiattack. The dracox makes two Rend attacks. It can replace one attack with a use of Slowing Breath or Spellcasting.
Rend. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d8 + 3) slashing damage.
Slowing Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dracox exhales a colorful mist in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or have the charmed condition for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature can’t take reactions and its speed is halved. A charmed creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Spellcasting. The dracox casts one of the following spells, requiring no spell components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 13):
- 1/day each: faerie fire, fog cloud, grease, sleep
