Fungeratu originated from an experiment conducted by the renowned alchemist Luciano Vosmus, who was secretly a vampire. Luciano’s experiments revolved around blending his blood with various substances to concoct new potions, oils, and solutions. Among these ingredients was a rare fungus discovered in the caverns beneath his mansion. Remarkably, a small sample of this fungus spontaneously transformed into a sentient creature, reminiscent of the sporefolk he had encountered during his travels. It didn’t take long for Luciano to realize that this creature had inherited some of his vampiric attributes.
Despite his reluctance to create vampire spawn, Luciano developed a profound connection with the fungeratu, likening them to his own progeny. He formed a modest group of these cherished creatures and trained them to collect specimens from the surrounding areas, expediting his research. However, Luciano’s triumphs were short-lived, as he fell victim to a band of adventurers within the year. Left without guidance, the fungeratu roamed freely, disseminating their spores far and wide.

Actions
Multiattack. The fungeratu makes three Claw attacks. It can replace one of these attacks with a Bite attack.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6 + 4) slashing damage. Instead of dealing damage, the fungeratu can grapple the target (escape DC 15).
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one willing creature, or a creature that is grappled by the fungeratu, incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage, and the fungeratu fills an empty blood sac.
Blood Rain. The fungeratu destroys one of its filled blood sacs, spraying blood around it in a 20-foot radius. Each other creature in the area must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 27 (6d8) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful save.
Pacifying Spores (1/Day). The fungeratu ejects spores in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or have the stunned condition for 1 minute. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Bonus Actions
Regenerate. The fungeratu consumes the blood from a filled blood sac, regaining 9 (2d8) hit points.
