The medal of consolation was created by a halfling enchanter named Tabbitt, who had a reputation for creating some of the most unique magical items in the realm. Tabbitt created the medallion for his second favorite warrior, a human knight named Sir Cedric, who had shown great valor in battle but had never quite managed to achieve the same level of recognition as other champions of the kingdom.
Tabbitt crafted the medal as a symbol of his appreciation for Sir Cedric’s unwavering dedication to the cause, even in the face of defeat. And although Sir Cedric may never have achieved a level of valor equal to Tabbitt’s favorite knight, he was always grateful for Tabbitt’s gift, and the second chances it afforded him in battle.
