Frostfire lizards are creatures infused with the elemental forces of fire and water, embodying the extremes of both planes. Their skin is pale white or gray, radiating an aura that chills the surrounding air yet feels hot to the touch. They have glowing eyes, either fiery orange or icy blue, and a row of small fins running along their spine, tapering off toward the tail.

These lizards favor environments that reflect the extremes of their dual nature, such as hot springs surrounded by permafrost or frozen volcanic landscapes. Such habitats are rare, so frostfire lizards are fiercely territorial when they find a suitable home.

Traits


Cold Aura. Chilling air surrounds the lizard in a 10-foot Emanation originating from itself. A creature that starts its turn in the area has its Speed reduced by 10 feet until the start of its next turn.

Ice Walk. The lizard can move across and climb icy surfaces without needing to make an ability check. Additionally, Difficult Terrain composed of ice or snow doesn’t cost it extra movement.

Illumination. The lizard sheds Bright Light in a 10-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 10 feet.
