The Vault: All-Armor

Me old life as an artificer was filled with boundless whimsy. But I always found that the limitations of conventional armor chafed at my inventive spirit, driving me to conjure my masterpiece: the all-armor.

With gears that whirred and levers that yielded to my command, I forged an armor that danced between forms – studded leather, scale mail, plate… whatever I desired. Each form bore unique blessings. In studded leather, the wearer slipped through the world like a wraith, swathed in the hush of shadows.

In scale mail, its metallic lamina absorbed blows with tenacity, thwarting the edge of blades and the thrust of arrows. Yet, each scale possessed a life of its own, pulsating in arcane resonance, punishing those foolish enough to make contact.

The zenith of my artistry lay in the plate form. An indomitable fortress, it turned the wearer into an unstoppable behemoth, a bulwark against the fury of battle.

All-Armor

Armor (Light, Medium or Heavy), Rare

While wearing this armor, you can use an action to manipulate its controls. It transforms into a type of armor of your choice. You also gain the following benefits matching its armor category:

  • Light. You gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide and your jump distance is tripled.
  • Medium. When a creature damages you with a melee weapon attack, you can use your reaction to deal 1d4 lightning damage to the creature.
  • Heavy. You are unaffected by difficult terrain and you gain advantage on checks made to escape a grapple.

Once you transform the armor, you cannot do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
