Granny Trollhook
The Dungeon Oracle dice set was crafted by the enigmatic forest witch, Granny Trollhook. Legend has it that she made the dice using bones from a dragon, an aboleth, and a sorcerer. Granny is known to barter her enchanted items for services rendered, and this dice set is highly sought-after among adventurers due to its exceptional usefulness in exploring dungeons, crypts, and ancient temples.
But beware, as Granny is known for her mischievousness, and those who seek her aid may find themselves owing her favors that put them in perilous situations.

Story hooks for DMs:
- The adventurers find an empty hut in a remote area, with a note and a set of dungeon oracle dice. The note specifies that by taking the dice, they promise to drop the heart of a troll they have killed into a well before two months have passed. If the party takes the dice and does not fulfil the promise, they begin having nightmares which increase in frequency and intensity until they either return the dice to the hut, fulfil the promise, or cast dispel magic using a spell slot of at least 5th level, removing the dice’s enchantment.
- While purchasing supplies, the party finds a potion shop tucked away in an alley. The proprietor is a beautiful alchemist with pale gray skin and silver hair named Granny Trollhook. She is willing to sell four potions of healing, a potion of greater healing, and a set of dungeon oracle dice for the discounted price of 400 gp and a favor. She asks that the party vandalize the shop of a greedy dwarf merchant named Grimvi Rubyteeth. The players must do at least 1,000 gp of damage to the building or the shop inventory. Failing to do so within 48 hours will cause the adventurers to gain no nutrition from eating until the favor is done. Returning to Granny’s shop at a later date will reveal only an empty room.
- The adventurers hear rumors of a young green dragon that has made its lair in a nearby bog. Farmers collecting peat saw it emerge from a cave at the bottom of a lake. This dragon is named Solirax and after scouting the local area has decided to begin extracting tribute from the villages near the bog. The villages can gather only 400 gp as a reward but entice the party by speculating on how large and valuable the dragon’s hoard must be. Among the treasure is a set of the dungeon oracle dice.
