High in the mountains, where the air was thin and the snow never melted, lived a dwarven barbarian named Thrang. He wore bracers covered in spikes, found in a cavern upon the remains of an adventurer that laid atop a pile of shattered yeti bones. The bracers hummed with arcane potential.
One night, a tribe of ice giants descended upon his village, seeking the sustenance of dwarf-flesh to survive the coming winter months. They were merciless, easily cutting through the town’s defenses, taking prisoners along the way. Thrang fought with all he had, but he knew it would not be enough to drive them back. His rage had faded, his fortitude waned, however the bracers still hummed.
He struck himself with the bracer’s spikes, the pain sharp but invigorating. Suddenly, a rage surged through him, a fire rekindled in his veins. With newfound strength, he waded into the fray. His blows landed with bone-breaking force, each strike extending his fury. The giants fell before him, unable to withstand the onslaught.
When the battle ended, Thrang stood amidst the wreckage of his foes. His village was safe for one more winter.
