The prismatic quill wields the essence of elemental chaos. Crafted in ages long past by a nameless enchanter, its original purpose obscured by time’s shroud, it emerges as both weapon and tool.
Forged from the hues of the primal forces, the quill, akin to a dart, finds its mark with precision. With each strike, it unleashes a maelstrom of elemental wrath, scorching with fire’s fury, freezing with ice’s chill, and lashing with the fury of storms. Its arcane prowess blinds adversaries, veiling their sight in a cloak of darkness, leaving them vulnerable to further assault.
Yet, beyond its martial might, the quill holds secrets of scholarly intrigue. Those versed in the ancient arts find solace in its presence, for it bears the gift of reduced tolls in the pursuit of arcane knowledge. Scribes and wizards alike find their burdens eased, as the quill facilitates the transference of magic to parchment, lowering the cost of inscription and replication.
In the annals of modern wizardry, the quill finds disdain. Scholars of the contemporary era, ensnared by the trappings of convention, scorn its humble guise, deeming it unfashionable. Yet, amidst their derision, the wise discern its true worth, recognizing in its multifaceted nature a relic of profound utility.
Prismatic Quill
Weapon (Dart), Uncommon
When making a ranged attack with this quill, you can choose the damage type dealt by it from one of the following types: acid, cold, fire, lightning or poison. It returns to the wielder’s hand immediately after making this attack.
When holding the quill, you can use an action to flourish it before you and cast the color spray spell. Once this feature has been used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn.
If you use the quill to scribe a magic scroll or copy a spell into a spellbook, you can reduce the time required to perform the activity by half.
