In ancient tales, the dragonhead scourge is a whip of formidable power wielded by those deemed worth by dragons. Crafted in the fiery depths of their lairs, its tip is fashioned in the likeness of draconic visage, the scourge harbors the essence of the mighty beasts themselves.
Bestowed upon their most loyal followers, be they fervent cultists or kobold caretakers of their scaled progeny, the scourge is a symbol authority. With each crack of its lash, flames dance forth, scorching foes with the fury of dragon’s fire.
Rumors tell of a set of such whips, each bearing the likeness of a different dragon breed. For the chromatic dragons—be they black, blue, green, red, or white—there exists a corresponding scourge, each imbued with the essence of its draconic kin.
Dragonhead Scourge
Weapon (Whip), Uncommon
This whip ends with a vicious dragon’s head at its tip. Flames emanating from it create bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.
On a hit, this weapon deals an additional 1d6 fire damage. If you roll a 1 for this additional damage and the target is a creature or a flammable object, it ignites. Until a creature takes an action to douse the fire, the target takes 1d6 fire damage at the start of each of its turns.
As an action, you can command the dragon head to breathe fire in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Once this feature has been used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn.
