There are pies for shepherds and pies for moons. But when you ask about pies for adventurers, people look at you funny. However, that’s exactly what Gorm the Gargantuan got when he found the adventurer’s pie. The pie was said to be baked by fey creatures or possibly even hags, but Gorm didn’t care about those rumors. He cared about the pie.
While battling a band of fierce orcs, Gorm decided he needed a quick reprieve. He pulled out a piece of the adventurer’s pie. He ate it and quickly felt his wounds close, his powers refreshed. But the pie had a side effect; it made his legs lethargic. He couldn’t take a step, but at least he felt renewed. The orcs were confused as he moved with the alacrity of a sloth while his battle axe swung with renewed vigor.
When the fight was over, Gorm retrieved a second pie from his pack. This time he ate it all, thinking he could use a nice, long rest. Almost immediately he was overcome by an intense slumber. He collapsed right there on the battlefield, snoring loudly. His comrades had to drag him away, pie crumbs still clinging to his beard. The pie had given him the rest he needed, but also made him a most inconvenient sleeping giant.
